Does Your Website Have These 4 Essentials?

4 Things Your Website Has To Have

Modern websites have a lot of features and various content, so much so that it can quickly become too much. With all these cool new things that possible to do with websites, it’s easy to forget the basics. Here are the things that you absolutely must have on your website.

[success]1. Social Media[/success]

social-mediaThink of it this way: your website is the foundation from which all other social media platforms are built upon. Which means that, yes, the little icons of Facebook, Twitter, and whatever other social media is applicable to your business are absolutely necessary. Furthermore, those icons should actually be functional. Nothing will lose a website visitor faster than links that don’t go anywhere. On the other hand, don’t over do it. We recommend being active on 3-4 social media platforms at most because let’s be honest, there’s no way anyone can keep track of more than 4 social media sites.

[success]2. Information[/success]

blogwriting-blog-writersWhen we say information, we don’t mean what your company is all about and a complete history of each employee – save that for the ‘about us’ page. We mean the really important stuff – phone number, address, hours of operation, and maybe even a Google maps snapshot. People want to be able to contact you. That being said, contact goes much further than just a phone call, it means implementing an e-mail form as well. This is an ideal option for people who are on the go and it’ll also encourage them to sign up for newsletters in the future.

[success]3. Images[/success]

graphics-display-view-screen-tv(1)Once again, try not to go too crazy here. Our professional recommendation is having an organized portfolio if you have the kind of company where images are vital to your business. Other than that, a banner of rotating images and a few strategically placed photos are enough. We know that we say images are better than text, but that doesn’t mean replacing nearly all your text with images! Be picky, really go through each photo and decide where they should go. These images are a representation of your business.

telcoIf you don’t have a mobile friendly version of your website you’re literally losing out on nearly half your market. With smart phones sweeping the nation, it’s no surprise that over 40% of people are searching online via mobile device. Without a website to cater to this need, potential clients can become quickly frustrated and leave your site. Mobile sites are simply condensed versions of your actual website and believe us, they are totally worth it.

Your article very interesting, but can I ask you a little more
You say to use 3 to 4 social networking
So we should choose four social networks? and do we have to lose potential customers when they use other social networks?
I’m waiting for an answer from you
    thank your post

    • Anja Micevic says:

      Hi Mikky,

What we recommend is using 3-4 major social networking sites. That way, if someone doesn’t use Facebook for example, maybe they use Twitter. Go for the social media website that are most popular and you will find that the majority of your customers use at least 1 of them. It also depends on which industry you are in. Try doing some research and see which sites your competitors are using to reach out to customers, that way you can see how big the audience is on each social media platform.

      Hope this was helpful!
