The results are in and as if we didn’t know already – new research shows that online videos are officially deemed more effective than traditional TV ads! Unfortunately, people are still resisting to this change with over 77% of companies using TV ads exclusively. Here’s a few numbers to think about – online videos account for 50% of all mobile traffic, of all mobile video viewers, 92% will share videos with friends, and video ads that have social media buttons have 36% higher viewer engagement. We’ll outline some big brands and companies that already know the effectiveness of this modern outlet:

If you haven’t already seen the “Evolutionary Husband” ad, take a look. This video was able to be funny, engaging, and memorable in a minute and a half. Oh and did we mention this video reached almost 6.7 million people?

While using both TV and Online videos to maximize their reach, Old Spice really got a following in YouTube with it’s outrageously funny 30 second ads featuring Terry Crews. Total reach of just one Old Spice ad? 6.4 million people.

This live action video is definitely memorable and was one of the most shared video ads when it came out. People were absolutely in love with this fun and quirky ad. How many people exactly? 2.1 million and growing.

Not to be outdone by other brands with online video ads, Google made a series of short, less than 30 second videos for Chrome that got their message across quickly and clearly. Their most popular of these videos reached just over 2 million people.

This brand truly understands the word “effective”. In a little over a minute, this Adidas ad can get you pumped up and raring to go buy a pair of shoes from the famous soccer sponsor. Seeing as Adidas is a worldwide brand, it’s no surprise that they reached 2.5 million people with this ad.
