5 Phrases Successful People Avoid

When we look at some of the most successful people in the world, we can find many things that the majority of them have in common. The most common thing among them, however, is their state of mind. Positivity, thinking outside the box, and eagerness to learn are all traits of an open and ever evolving mind. To get into this realm of success, the first thing you want to do is take a look at your daily vocabulary and see where you’re going wrong. Below we’ll list the 5 phrases you’ll never hear successful people say.

1.  “I don’t know”grow-flourish-gain-promote

This just simply isn’t an option. The phrase “I don’t know” is unacceptable to someone who is working towards success in any industry. When someone asks you if something is possible, the worst thing to say is that you don’t know. So what do successful people say instead? Usually something along the lines of, “Let’s find out” or “We’ll come up with a way to test that out”

2. “We should catch up”Consultation-fixation-banner

Don’t say this unless you actually mean it. This phrase can only be followed up by making a concrete plan to meet with someone and discuss ideas – otherwise, its just a filler phrase. It’s important to keep your networks relevant and strong, so if you want to be successful, make sure you’re genuinely catching up with the people who are essential in your network of professionals.

3. “It was all me”job

Here’s the thing, no one person can do all of the jobs required to have a successful business or company. Never forget to give credit where credit is due. No one likes the person that brags and takes credit for the hard work of other people, so stay humble and make sure to be thankful for the people you have around you working towards the same common goal.

4. “I can’t do that”focus icon by www.developaweb.com/blog

Yes, you can. There’s a difference between “can’t” and “won’t”. When you won’t do something, usually its a moral issue, in which case, stick to your ethics and don’t let anyone sway you. However, when you say you “can’t” do something, it’s flat out refusal to even try. Always remember that with every risk comes an equal payoff. If you’re still not comfortable, don’t say go for just saying no, try saying “not right now”.

5. “I’ll sleep when I’m dead”investor

You may be the person that works well under stress and loves getting things done within a deadline – but don’t forget about your personal health. It’s important to take time off, relax and recharge in order to truly produce the best possible results. You’re no good to your company or your team when you’re burnt out and constantly sleep deprived.
