Shop Till You Drop: 5 Steps To Increasing E-commerce Sales

5 Steps To Increasing E-commerce Sales

One Trillion Dollars. That’s how much e-commerce sales brought in world wide in 2012. The online shopping world is continually expanding and in order to be a true competitor, an e-commerce site is necessary. Having a website for online shopping is one thing, actually getting people to go to it and buy is another. Below, we’ll outline some ways to increase online sales:

[success]1. Focus on Visitors[/success]

That’s what “about us” pages are for. Instead, go through your written content and remove any traces of text where you use the words “me” or “I” because it’s not about you, it’s about the customer. Tell them why they need your product. How will it make their lives easier? How is it different from similar products? By keeping focus on your customer, you’re increasing the potential for sales.

[success]2. Promotions[/success]

This is a great strategy that you can use to spur sales by sending out a special limited time promo code via email that only customers on the mailing list will receive for a discount or deal of some sort. This way you’re achieving multiple things: a sense of urgency, exclusivity, and increased customer loyalty. This will also likely increase the number of people that sign up for the mailing list and bring new traffic to the site.

[success]4. Limited Products[/success]

ecommerceIf you’ve got a storefront and an e-commerce site, we don’t recommend selling everything from the store online. The reason being that, you don’t want to defer all your foot traffic to be online traffic. Instead, take your best sellers (depending on your product, keep it at less than 20 items online) and have them available online. Don’t stress about pleasing every single person. Your e-commerce store is about profit and that’s what best sellers will bring. For everything else, sell it in the storefront.

[success]5. Stock Turnover[/success]

up-to-dateIf your e-commerce store is your only platform for selling your products, one thing you may need to do is take a fine toothed comb and go through which products are selling and which ones are not. There’s no point in keeping items that aren’t selling in stock. We recommend doing this every 6 months or so to stay relevant. And remember, it’s all about out with the old and in with the new.

What a material of un-ambiguity and preserveness of valuable familiarity
    about unpredicted feelings.
